What PCT means
An international filing process, not an “international patent grant”
A PCT filing provides a common international-stage process for seeking protection in multiple jurisdictions. Patent grants remain decisions of national or regional offices.
Applicant origin
Assigned from applicant residence
Origin differs from receiving office, inventor nationality and filing language. An application may be received elsewhere while remaining attributed to the applicant’s origin.
Estimates and omitted years
2025 is estimated; biennial history is not annualised
WIPO marks 2025 as estimated. Years omitted from A07 are not zero and are never interpolated or carried forward.
