In 2024 consumer, power and energy-storage batteries produced 84, 826 and 260 GWh, summing to the 1,170 GWh total.

Deployment and monetary indicators
Installed volume rose while export value and industry value fell
The left panel shows installed volume in GWh. The right panel expresses export value and industry output value in billion yuan. In 2024 installed volume exceeded 645 GWh, export value was 434.8 billion yuan and industry output value exceeded 1.2 trillion yuan.

Lithium-salt output and prices
Lithium-salt output rose while annual average prices fell sharply
In 2024 battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide output reached 670,000 and 360,000 tonnes, while annual average prices were 90,000 and 87,000 yuan per tonne.

Output versus deployment
Do not add 1,170 GWh to 645 GWh
Total output is the production flow during the year. Installed volume is the amount deployed in new-energy vehicles and new energy storage. Inventories, exports and other uses create a gap.
Physical versus monetary
Monetary values cannot be combined with GWh
Export and industry values are measured in yuan and are affected by product prices. In 2024 output and deployment rose while export and industry values fell.
Lower bounds
“More than” is not an exact value
The 2023 total output, installed volumes in both years and industry values in both years are lower-bound figures. Published MIIT growth rates take priority.
